We have a rare opportunity to have an air conditioned motor coach take our group into Joshua Tree National Park. Two distinct desert ecosystems, the Mojave and the Colorado, come together in Joshua Tree National Park. A fascinating variety of plants and animals make their homes in a land sculpted by strong winds and occasional torrents of rain. Dark night skies, a rich cultural history, and surreal geologic features add to the wonder of this vast wilderness in southern California. Come explore for yourself! One mile optional walks in Joshua Tree National Park at three iconic locations with an expert guide. Water, snacks and park entrance are also included.

After the Joshua Tree National Park tour, our coach will take us to Pioneertown. Pioneertown was established in 1946 as a functioning 1880’s themed town easily accessible from both Los Angeles & Palm Springs and would serve as a filming location, vacation destination & permanent residence for people working in the entertainment industry, ranchers and desert lovers alike. Lunch for the tour will be at Pappy & Harriets in Pioneertown, which has its own story. One of those sets, a cantina featured in numerous Westerns, would eventually become Pappy & Harriet’s. In 1972, Harriet’s mother purchased the building and transformed it into “The Cantina”, an outlaw biker burrito bar that thrived for a decade.  When it closed, they ensured it remained in the family, setting the stage for something new.  In 1982, it was reborn into Pappy and Harriet’s restaurant. There is a stage for local and some not so local talent to perform—Paul McCartney has played here along with other legends.
